In English, "manushya" is often translated simply as "human" or "human being". The term is derived from the Sanskrit root "manu," which means "to think" or "to understand," and reflects the importance of intellect and consciousness in defining what it means to be human.

Once again I drink the poison made by strangling my dreams and become an ideal and civilized citizen of this society.

But a part of my mind asks why.

Why do I want to become an ideal citizen?

Why am I afraid of demanding my right to complete freedom?

What will happen at the most? Will I be killed?

But it is better to die openly than to live in such a suffocated state.

But then I wonder 'who' exactly will give me complete freedom. Is it someone else or do I want freedom from 'my own self'?

The song "Kun Faya Kun" is worth mentioning here (which pulled me out of the dark tunnel):

Oh my Lord!
My request is to you,
"Please release me from me,
Let me glimpse the (real) me,
release me from me,
release me from me only."

  • "Save Me from Myself" by Christina Aguilera:
It's not so easy loving me. It gets so complicated,
all the things you've gotta be,
And when I'm about to fall,
somehow you're always waiting with your open arms to catch me.
You're gonna save me from myself.
  • "Save Me from Me" by Amber Pacific:
Save me from me, I'm my own worst enemy.
  • "Somebody Save Me" by Eminem featuring Jelly Roll:
Somebody save me, me from myself,
I've spent so long living in hell.
  • "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence:
Call my name and save me from the dark,
Bid my blood to run before I come undone,
Save me from the nothing I've become.
  • "Save Me" by Queen:
I hang my head and I advertise a soul for sale or rent,
I have no heart, I'm cold inside. I have no real intent.
Save me, save me, save me. I can't face this life alone.
And last but not the least, how can I forget to quote Switchfoot's song "Free"
Free
Come set me free
Down on my knees
I still believe you can save me from me
Come set me free
I still believe
That inside this shell there's a prison cell

When so many people are talking about the same thing i.e. real freedom is from 'self' or 'ego' or 'mind', it has to be true, right?

The freedom is not from a job, boss, partner, country, and so on and so forth, right?

What do you think?
