Why Do People Think I Have Matured Because I Have White Hairs

I like my boss in this aspect. When time and occasion permit he cracks a joke and laughs making the dull office routine 'lighter'. But, usually I have to be very careful with what I say and how I behave outside home. And it kills me.

Some kids in school
Some kids

Sometimes I desperately wish I could act and speak my hearts out like a child would in front of people. Or like a child would start dancing at a funeral or a 'satsang'.

But because I have some white hairs and have beard and look like a man, people mistake me for a mature, well-behaved, well-mannered, well-cultured person. But inside, I feel like acting carefree, dancing without GAF in front of people, bursting into laughter in your serious conversations.

The same happens with M. She is also a kid at heart and it shows in her ways as well. And she bears the brunt for it sometimes. That's why she hates the society like me.

Well, if the situation demands of us to be introspective and circumspect we rise up to the occasion.

But, all the time? Seriously?

No way!

Why be serious and sullen all the time!

I can not be creative like a child,
I can not be carefree like a child.

But outside, whenever I get the chance and support of my accomplice, M, we prefer to shed our masks. And have fun with kids like kids!
